The Life and Times of HMS Concord
By the men of the HMS Concord Association

Produced and compiled by Peter Lee-Hale, Derek Hodgson and Alan Ausden, The Life and Times of HMS Concord is a tribute to the men who served in her and the ship itself. Her service during the Yangtze Incident and in the Korean War are especially highlighted. The story is related through official documents and memories of the men who were there.

This is the first book of its kind about Concord and is most likely the last, it was written to create a historical record of their ship that would live on long after the Association is disbanded. Never before published recollections, photos and details of the ship make this book the final word on this valiant destroyer.

There are a limited number of copies available and they can only be obtained by contacting the Association.

I've been reading "The Life and Times of HMS Concord" and as I mentioned before, there is a photo on page 93 of sailors with the kids at the orphanage Christmas party. The sailor bending over to the child is Reg Temple (my Father-in-Law) and he has a copy of the photo. However, the date for this event is given as 1948 but his records show he did not join the ship before August 1949. So I believe the date should be 18 December 1949, calculated from the content of the article. We cannot change the book but I thought you would like to know, anyway.

Cheers,
Linda Temple
