I'm attempting to find out what information I can about my Grandfather, Neil McColl, who served on board HMS IMPLACABLE from 1944 until 1947. He was a stoker, and I understand the stokers maintained a tight-knit community even after they demobbed. I'm hoping that someone may recall his name being mentioned or even have a photograph in which he is featured? Thanks very much and I look forward to hearing back from you soon!

D. McColl, RCN

I believe my father served on the Implacable in 1945. The story is he jumped ship in Sydney and went under an alias Micheal Hanson thou it's possible his real name was George Hanson. I never met my father and know nothing about him except possibly born northern Ireland 1922 or 23 maybe someone will remember him don't know what position he had in navy.

Thank you,
Raymond Smythe

Would someone be so kind as to provide me with the date the HMS Implacable departed Manila, Luzon, Philippine Islands in late September 1945.  With R.A.M.P.s onboard, the ship arrived at Pearl Harbor, Territory of Hawaii October 5, 1945.

My father, Daniel Joseph Tyndall, was on HMS Implacable being a Japanese POW.  I am trying to trace any record of him anyone might have. He lied about his age to join the army but actually he was born in 1923.

Thanks,
Kathy
